Secret Hitler

So I wanted to play Secret Hitler with my friends but just having paper cards and such wasn't going to cut it.
I decided to do it right.

So I made a little wooden box, cut out the cardboard for the facist and liberal papers (for the facist ones you need two because there are three of them. For the liberal and facist policies I used cardboard as well because I didn't want to cut my magic cards in half I used for the party membership, secret identity, Ja and Nein cards. Also the background didn't line up and meh.
It has been all in one more than ten work hours but this was the first time I did this, also painting the damn box took a long time.
I went with black because Hitler.

English all the way

Hello friends, I will go full english in this little blogish thing as well.
As you may or may not know my youtube channel switched to english uhm, two years ago (I think).

Hopefully that will bring some more attention to this blog, or not. This is mostly just a little excercise I do for myself. That's also the reason for me not doing this as often as I should.

Nevertheless: The plans for my channel go more into the direction of 24/7 4X (If you understand this, you are a nerd and possibly need treatment) which means I will cover Master of Orion with all its patches and also play more 4x games again like Star Ruler 2.
On the other hand I will of course continue playing stuff like Factorio and Rimworld because that is stuff I love.

I debated if I want to try a facecam thingy and I am still convinced that most people using a facecam are morons, but does the facecam make them morons or are they just morons with a facecam? Or do I just think they are morons because they are using a facecam? I am not done with thinking about it yet but I don't think my ugly face will improve my videos :)

My grandfather was a soldier in Hitlers army

My grandfather was a soldier in Hitlers army. The Wehrmacht.

He was born on the 20th of march in 1915 in the granddutchy of Oldenburg as a son of Hermann and his jewish wife Henriette. His father had died in the last year of World War I at the age of 23.

His mother, my great-grandmother married Franz in 1917 from which my granddad got his name. Henriette and Franz got a divorce in 1926 and my great-grandmother lived with Bruno for 45 years and never married again.

My grandfather grew up to be a gardener. Gardeners and farmers were important to the war effort so he was not unlike my other grandfather one of the first to go to war. As my grandfather was drafted he spent time in France. My grandfather liked France. The weather was good and the french were nice.

My grandfather was no normal german soldier. He wore a Colt and a cowboy scarf. He learnt a bit of french and he wore a Colt. His mother was jewish, so he never would have been an officer. His mother Henriette had to go see a doctor twice a year who checked if she have had sex with an Arian. Her son, my grandfather was in France.

The first son of my grandfather was names Heiko. He was born in 1940. The second son was named Horst and was born in 1942. Before the birth of Horst, Hitler attacked the Soviet Union.

My grandfathers were soldiers in Hitlers army. Wilhelm, my other granddad died near Smolensk on the 7th of July 1941, 39 years before my birth and only two weeks after the attack. My granddad was no longer in France, he was in Russia. He wore his Colt and his cowboy scarf. He liked books about the american wild west from Karl May. He liked the idea about seeing America but he was in cold Russia.

My grandfather was a soldier in Hitlers army and he was a hero.

As Horst was born, his second son he got two weeks of vacation at home as all german soldier got. Horst was a beautiful baby as his brother had been before. After two weeks he had to go back with his Colt and his scarf. My grandfather was a hero. He did not find the front lines. He did not find the front lines for three weeks. He was a son of a jewish mother in a foreign land and he did not want to fight this stupid war.

His brothers name was Adolf. The irony. Adolf was a son of a jewish woman. Good little Wehrmacht soldiers killed him in Russia as they found out. Adolf was a nice man like his brother and he did not want to fight that stupid war. Adolf was never found and his brother refused to find the frontlines.

My granddad was a hero because he refused to fight. My granddad liked flowers and attend to crops. All he wanted to be was a gardener and love his wife. Sometimes he liked to make little pieces of art.

My grandfather was captured in Russia and became a prisoner of war. He rather threw his gun away then get shot for Hitlers cause. He liked France more than Siberia and he told stories in the prison camp for cigarettes. He learned a bit of russian. He was never perfect and liked to smoke. He never quit.

After five years he was allowed to go home. His head was shaven and he was barely more than a skeleton when he came home to my grandmother and his two boys.

In 1952 my mother was born. A baby sister for my two uncles.

My grandfather had been a soldier in Hitlers army and he was a hero. He rolled his own cigarettes and you couldn't tell the difference to bought ones. He later worked as a gardener in the botanical garden of Oldenburg. My grandfather never saw America but he saw Italy after the war. My grandmother and him been there in their own italian car.

My grandfather died at the 29th of June in 1991.

My grandfather was a soldier in Hitlers army. A father and a human being.

Most soldiers aren't heroes, my grandfather Heinz was.

His wife Gertrud died on the evening of February the second.
It's time to meet your hero and your son grandma.

GDL Streik

Moin,

Life changes

There is this big and nice party on saturday. The best parties always been on saturdays because on sundays everybody (well, except some policemen and firefighters...) don't have to work. All shops are closed on sundays. I always liked that party and I been to all of them but one I think.
It's organized bye dude who does this shit for like 20 years. The athmosphere is usually fun and there been times I was exited for like 2 month because the date of this kind of parties was arriving.

Today facebook told me that "Le Partey!" for November is approaching.
And I'm like "meh!"
I go to that kind of party for xxxx things.

1. Meeting friends I usually just meet at such parties. Yeah uhm, why don't I just meet up with them at other times?
2. Get drunk and dance. Well I quit drinking a year ago and I usually don't feel like dancing when I'm not drunk.
3. Good music! Appearantly the music isn't half as good when I"m sober...

Well and there is the fact that drunk people are getting on my nerves. I think I have to go because its tradition somehow. I can go early because not drinking has the huge advantage that you can go by car. And so I will.

*sigh*

Beyond Weekend

I started playing Civilization: Beyond Earth at 10 am local time. I won my first game roughly at 9 pm on the third hardest difficulty and begun my second game. I went to bed at 5 am. I got up at 1 pm, ate and continued playing that game. Sadly/luckily Quill18 announced on twitter that he will be streaming and I went over to watch him while playing the same damn game he was playing. Beyond Earth.
Anyhow. He streamed for 14 hours or so and after that i quickly played some turns. I won that second game at 7 am(-ish?) and guess what: Went for number three. Well actually I tried figuring out how I could make that game a bit harder. I tried some planet types. Thankfully I got the extra maps. The second game was already a tundra planet. My actual game, the real third one is a arid planet. It's massive but the game is still a bit too easy even though I have frenzied aliens enabled. More and more aggressive aliens it said. Nah, not really. Cute little kittens they still are. Just an hour ago I started killing them off an island I wanted to settle on. I killed 30 units and after that they seem to be a bit annoyed and even tried for the first time to enter my glorious colony. My city defence one-shotted the sea dragon and that was it. In bright contrast to Alpha Centauri the aliens don't seem to have a real strategy to keep you from settling basically everywhere and planting your flags. Ok, a Siege Worm in the beginning is annoying as crap but it usually doesn't attack you. It might kill your trade routes but would not attack your city or even enter your land. Also the alien units are staying the same. There is no retaliation swarm inbound or something. The spawn from theid nests and thats it.

I really want to have a coop game, where you try to settle and survive but that doesn't seem possible at the moment. Usually the AI immediately start fighting each other. Absolutely logical. The arrive, see no real danger and are trying to kill off the competition.

I still have to try the multiplayer though. Again: It's a bit sad that the enviroment isn't really a danger to the arriving humans.

Patch please? More hard game.
Coop functionality please.
Or do I have to wait for the first or even second DLC/add-on like with Civ 5?
